Prime Market Terminal alternative
You want to know what is moving your market before you buy or sell. This page walks through that job in Novex: the order to open the screens, who it is for, and what it will not do.
The job you are trying to get done
You trade currencies, or you trade an index that lives on the same stories: rates, growth, inflation, and how traders are positioned. The question at the start of the session is simple. Something is moving. You want the reason, in an order you can follow, without rebuilding it from five tabs.
A useful morning has a shape. You look at the backdrop first: what is pushing markets, how traders feel, and how hard currencies are moving. Then you look at what is due, because a print you did not expect is how a calm session turns. If a central bank is close, you look at the chance of a move and how prices have already shifted. Then you place the crowd and the larger traders next to that story, so you are not choosing a side from the price alone.
You also want yesterday. If you missed London, or you missed New York, you want a short note of what already moved, not a pile of headlines to sort. And when something breaks in the minute you are watching, you want the headline where you already are.
That is the whole job. A terminal helps when those pieces sit in one place and each one is plain enough to open on a Monday. It does not help when you have to learn a large desk before you can answer the first question. Novex is arranged around that question. You can keep the chart, the broker, and any other habit you already trust. This is the read that sits next to them.
How a session looks in Novex
Start with Macro Overview. Four panels show what is pushing the markets, the mood of traders, and how much currencies are moving. You see that picture change through the day, before you decide to buy or sell. It is the front door. If the backdrop is quiet and your market is not, you already know to look closer. If the backdrop is violent and your market is still, you know the move may be late, or somewhere else.
Then open the Economic Calendar. It is a live list of releases and holidays, and of how hard each one can hit a currency. Filter by time, by country, and by strength. You want the next few hours for the currencies you actually trade, not the whole world. Being ready is knowing the time, the currency, and whether the print is the kind that usually moves that market.
Interest Rates is the central-bank board. You see the chance of a move at the next meeting, and how prices shifted over 30 days. For a currency, the rate path is often the story under the headline. For an index, the same board tells you whether the session is still trading the last meeting or already trading the next one.
Macro Data is the history of the prints: prices, jobs, growth, and surveys, country by country. You compare the result, the later correction, and what people expected, without building the series yourself. One beat means little if the series has beaten for a year. One miss means more if the last two were already rolling over.
When the number is out, or a headline hits, Market Live is the feed, with radio and TV in the same place, so you are not hunting for a stream. Direction Overview puts three reads side by side before you choose a side: COT for the big traders, DMX for the crowd, and AI Biais for Novex’s own read. Daily Recap closes the loop. It is a short briefing for Europe, the US, and Asia, so the next session does not start from a blank page.
None of these screens tells you to buy or sell. They put the reason next to the market. The decision stays yours. Nothing on this page is a promise of profit.
The screens, in the order above
- Macro Overview. Four panels show what is pushing the markets, the mood of traders, and how much currencies are moving. You see that picture change through the day, before you decide to buy or sell.
- Economic Calendar. A live calendar of releases, holidays, and how hard each one can hit a currency. You filter by time, country, and strength, so you are ready before the number comes out.
- Interest Rates. The central-bank board shows the chance of a move at the next meeting, and how prices shifted over 30 days. You follow where rates are heading before you buy or sell currencies.
- Macro Data. Charts of past releases for prices, jobs, growth, and surveys, country by country. You compare the result, the later correction, and what people expected, without building the series yourself.
- Market Live. A live headline feed, with radio and TV in the same place. You catch what just happened without opening another tab.
- Direction Overview. One screen puts COT (the big players), DMX (the crowd), and AI Biais (our read) side by side. You compare the three before you choose a side.
- Daily Recap. A short briefing for Europe, the US, and Asia, every day. You see what moved before the next session starts.
Who it fits, and who should skip it
It fits a trader who works from the macro and the fundamentals, on forex or on indices, and who wants that read in one terminal. An account without a paid plan is the Free plan, with limited access to some modules. Pro is the broader terminal. The pricing page is the split, not a guess from this article.
See Free and Pro on the pricing page.
Skip it if your job is different
Skip it if your work is drawing on a price chart, backtesting a rule, or copying someone else’s trades. Novex does not do those jobs. Skip it too if you want a warehouse of every economic series to pour into your own app. The terminal has a documented API for the data behind these screens. It is that data, not a separate catalog of the world.
Short answers
Do I have to leave the tools I already use?
No. Keep the chart, the broker, and any calendar habit you trust. Novex is the place you open to see what is moving the market and why the backdrop changed.
Will it tell me what to buy?
No. You get the drivers, the calendar, the rate path, positioning, and a short briefing. You still choose the trade. There is no promise of a result.
What do I open first on a Monday?
Macro Overview, then the Economic Calendar for the next day on your currencies, then Interest Rates if a central bank is in the story. Read the Daily Recap if you missed a session.
Can I look before I pay?
Yes. Without a paid plan you are on Free, with limited access to some modules. Pro is the wider terminal. Check the pricing page for what each plan includes today.
